Not really getting it...

Before I came to this conference I announced to my wife and to myself that I would stay quiet and not get goofy and just listen.

Well,
I didn't keep that promise.

You see I have this thing about my brain. When we are in serious discussions and intense deliberations I start making humorous connections... and then I say it just loud enough for a few to hear. In other words - I can't stop goofing off. I am listening well, asking questions, learning a ton, writing pads of notes, but yet giving into those moments that pop in my head.

The good news is - a few people get it - especially Rav (rabbi) Yoshonis. The bad news is - everyone else looks like I have pizza on my face. :)

In anycase - I am having a great time and I thank God for this awesome opportunity.

Late,
sd

I hear ya my brotha!

Some people seem to have been born without the humor gene. Oh they say they have a good sense of humor, but one clever, and timely remark and they get all bent out of shape.

It's always... "Have some respect" and "This is not the time or place" and "Get thee behind me Satan!" I mean come on people lighten up a little...

If those at the Messiah Eyes conference aren't getting the humor then they need to be more like most Rabbi's I've met -- who seem to think Humor is one of the 10 commandments.

Thou Shalt Laugh.

I hope you come back more jewish and with less guilt over being the funniest guy in all of West Michigan! (Even funnier than Rob Bell, because it's hard for Idols to be Funny any more when you take them so serious). :-)

By the way, is this the guy you sat behind at the conference, because when I google image "Rob Bell" this is who I find:

Thanks DD...I always thought Bell was older.

Drury - That was him and when I asked him about his book he was in a daze... He had no idea who he was. :)

We did have a good group of people, but I think some were used to humor that wasn't as sarcastic as mine. :)

I am back and had a great week!
