Tip Toe through the clouds.

Today the sun came out!
Praise God! I thought we had entered a nuclear winter. A bit dramatic, but the clouds have been thick and unrelenting until today.

We began our conversation series entitled: Life is Waiting. It is a study on the Ten Commandments.

This week my lovely wife, Vicki, and I will be getting an ultrasound for this little one in the belly of my wife. The question... Do we find out the sex or not? We already have been blessed with healthy kids... a boy and a girl. So... do we find out or wait?

I'll accept your counsel.

Thou shalt leave comments or thou shall surely die,

If you still have clothes left from both the previous ones, go ahead and let it be a surprise. If you're short on them, find out and be ready!

Or, you find out, tell everyone you didn't and somehow have a betting pool that is rigged and you can walk away with some fat cash. Now that's what I'm talking about!

I say wait. We waited with all 3 of our kids - you included...but then there was no ultrasound 30 years ago, so maybe that had something to do with it? Oh well, go for the "olden days" way.

Ya gotta love that son/sun!

My suggestion: Find out the sex and tell everyone so you get clothes... but keep the name potentials a secret so there is some "suprise" left when the baby is born.

(Also, if it's a boy I'd rather you name him "David" after me instead of "David" after your father).

Cya at lunch tomorow. You read the next chapter in Acts yet?

Definitely wait. Having one of each flava is a definite plus...

It's not up to you anyway. Ask your wife how you will be doing it and just accept your place in the world, as a man. ;-)

I never really got the whole surprise thing anyway... I mean it's not like it's going to be a puppy or something, and unless you are going to do some wagering what's the point?

I say find out what it is so you're not limited to only yellow and green things. Plus with other little ones it is nice to be able to tell them which they will be getting... A new baby sister or a new baby brother.

Good luck and have a fast, healty, and happy birth-day with your new one.

I'll comment since you threatened me.

I say that you reward yourself with finding out only if you can lose 4 pounds before the appt.

hey! I say found out what it is, and keep the name a secert even though that may drive people insane- it sure did when my sister kept the name a secert for the whole 9 months! But do whatever you think is best-

I'd say go for it and find out. It's like you're getting to know them before they are born. I also think that this world has enough surprises...Praise the Lord that she is having a baby..then use the science to find out what sex. Then you get to find out what the wife will let you name him/her. Go out on a limb and try something daring like Lucifer or Damien..just to let the wife know you still have a sense of humor!!

I'm torn between finding out or not but I think I lean towards finding out.

To be all sensitive, I don't know of any studies that would back me up, but it seems good and bonding to be able to talk to the child in the womb and use it's name rather than just be left with referring to the child as an it for the whole nine months.

Knowing the sex enables you to connect with your child's God given identity very early and engage it as parents. This can only be a plus.

It feels like there's something deep in that, something very connecting.

Well that was a bit serious wasn't it ;o)

Number 3. Wow. Too bad Beck and I will not be keeping the sibling ages the same this time. Sloan-Atumn, Kayelyn-Harison. I hope things are going well. See you around sometime.

oh yeah.... Find out if it is a girl or a boy. There are better suprises yet to come.
