The days of kick the can in the front yard, of Saturday morning cartoons being cool, of Donkey Kong, of running around the neighborhood without a care in the world and no fear of predators.
I had a great childhood and for that I am thankful. As you can see from this photo - I also had a great fashion role model in my father.
I'm showing a bit under the tie, but everyone can see that I'm proud of my wife and kids. Why else would I get dressed up in plaid? I wonder if wearing a tie a bit short was part of the style in 1982? Seeing that great looking lead sled in the garage brings back a lot of memories. I can remember all the rubbing it would take to wax that jewel.
WELCOME SUZIE Q to the blogging world. Sue and Jay Z are husband and wife and mighty fine people. She has a great first post and I encourage you to make her blog a part of your well balanced diet of blogs each day. :) You may know Sue as "The O.C." in Jay's blog... Anyways - our blogger community is growing.
Heading out today to work on camp talks for our middle school camp. I have four messages I need to put together so I am heading to Holland soon.

Spent the day with my family and extended family at my folks. They live across the street from a park and a beach on Lake Michigan. We hung out under the blazing sun and I got burned.
I went and picked up hot dogs and stuff for Sunday morning. It will be fitting to gather and worship God, the ultimate freedom giver, on the fourth of July.
Have a great weekend! I'm golfing tomorrow with my dad and two brother in laws.
I'm addicted to caffeine,
